To the right, there is also a great spot for a family computer. On the other side of the island is a bank of drawers that house the dishes and silverware used daily to serve the family at the island. There is also a large trash drawer and basket drawers for bread and unrefrigerated vegetables such as potatoes.

If a family member makes up a cake at the last minute and does not have the time to cleanup before guests arrive, they can merely shut the door. The space also serves for a place to make snacks and school lunches when everyone is in a hurry so that the mess is not made in the main kitchen area visible to guests. Just shut the door until you can get around to cleaning it up.

You might think, what is that? With this wonderful plumbing fixture, you fill your pot with filtered water at the stove.
